-fashion writers, fashion critics, fashion reporters - all play different roles. If any, I would class myself as the fashion critic according to my latest article.
-there are also fashion bloggers who release their personal views on the fashions of the season and what goes well for example; http://www.secretdiaryofafashionjournalist.com/ - this particular 'fashion journalist' uses her website as a base to tell her readers about the clothing she has worn. It is quite an informal, personal style of writing as she addresses her readers in a colloquial manner and talks to them as if she were having a real conversation with them. She explains her outfits or the outfits she has purchased in detail and how she likes or dislikes aspects of the outfit and how it 'goes with' the situation she is in or the place she is a about to attend. The colloqiual style of the bolgs do strip it of the typical professionalism that one would expect in a high-end fashion magizine, as this is someones personla view on their own clothing that they have purchased and then accessorized. She uses informal, colloquial language, allowing the text to flow like a conversation between friends.

-this website gives tips on how to be a good fashion journalist; visualising what you are describing, being able to describe something just as a picture would, but doing it well enough that it doesn't sound like a childrens story. You need the ability to justify yourself and your views on something. You need the ability to be a ble to interview people and get their opinion andh their views on something, just like in real news stories that make an actual difference to the world.
-Depending on the class of the magizine and whether it is well-known or not, the stle of the writer may vary as with some bigger corporation fashion magizines, fashion is taken very seriously and things are done in a systematic manner. Yes, I'm taking exmaples from 'The Devil Wears Prada' but I think its relevant.
-write a piece on 'how to write for a fashion magizine'
-each wrtier has their own style, especially free-lance journalists who sell their stories to certain editors. It is said to practice and keep up with that style and not to let go of it as you would need a staple style to catch your readers interest. You have to have an eye for things and have an opinion which is worth while neough to be of any interest.
-not only Western fashion can be commented on, you can comment on the increasing fashions of the Eastern culture as well as the styling of the Hijab?

-anohter article about fashion journalism. Quite an upbeat, informal way of explaining fashion journalism. It somehow relates some personal views on the area of journalism and how it seen by the people who write about fashion and those who don't. A personal account of a fashion jounralist and how she gained a career in fashion journalism. What I have seen so far in these articles is that they adopt a chatty, colloquial style for the readers to adopt and understand.
-write about the obsession with being size zero and what the actual healthy size is for women and men
